Field Report: Balcony Waterproofing with Triflex Colour Mix, Vihula (EST)

Triflex certified partner Katuse Profid supported investor AS Restor in the preservation of a historic building belonging to Vihula Manor Country Club & Spa in Vihula, Estonia. The 4* Superior Hotel was recently awarded the prestigious title “Best Historic Hotel in Europe 2020” at the prestigious EHA (European Hotel Awards). Not only because of its picturesque exterior, but also for its worthy interior and facilities. But this interior was in danger because of a leaking 40 square meter balcony that caused many problems. Triflex BTS-P balcony solution and the finish with Triflex Colour Mix and Triflex Creative Design were the answers to these problems. And Katuse Profid was the right applicator for this job, not only because they are certified by Triflex but also nominated as Triflex Xpert, which expresses a comprehensive experience and special skills. So, Katuse Profid removed the balcony edges and old tiles, they cleaned and ground the surface of the balcony. After that, they cleaned the rainwater gutter and had to rebuild the upstand and to grind the flagstones. In the past, AS Restor used different material to cover top on the flagstones. Katuse Profid installed new slopes and used Triflex ProDetail with fleece on all the upstand of the wall, flagstones and rainwater gutter. For the full surface, Katuse Profid used Triflex ProTerra with fleece. For the finish layer, Katuse Profid used Triflex Cryl Finish 205 with Triflex Colour Mix and Triflex Creative Design.
